Passport Information

How to obtain a passport
The Prothonotary Office in your County Courthouse handles passport requests.  Applications can be obtained at their office.  You will need your birth certificate, driver’s license and two (2) passport photos.  Applicants must appear in person , submit certified birth certificate or a previous US passport, two identical photographs must be passport specific, driver’s license. Allow SIX WEEKS for processing. Fees must be paid by check or money order. Adult passports are valid for ten years juvenile passports are for five years.

How to obtain a birth certificate
Birth Certificates are handled at your County Courthouse in the Register & Recorders office.  They can advise you of the current cost for your birth certificate and you will need to present photo identification. Your Register & Recorders office can be reached at:
